An exciting new events venue in the rolling Wiltshire countryside

Our 19th century threshing barn is a great space for everything from mindful retreats to milestone birthday or anniversary parties. Please get in touch for availability and a bespoke quote, letting us know what the event is, how many people you are inviting, outline timings, and whether you require catering. Alternatively, you are welcome to book us for your marquee or tipi event.

Capacity
What is the capacity of the venue? The farmhouse has accommodation for up to 15 guests (plus a pop-up bed and a cot), and capacity for up to 18 (boardroom style), or 24 (dining).
Depending on your event set-up and format, the Threshing Barn has capacity for up to 100 (seated dining), or up to 150 standing.
Food and Drink
What catering do you provide on site? Although we don’t have our own in-house catering, we work with some great local suppliers. We can help you arrange cold buffets or street style food, or we can put you in touch with some great caterers for something a little more special. Please see our directory of trusted partners for more detail.
Do you have a bar? The Ridgeway Barns is a fully licenced venue. If you would like alcohol at your event we will run the bar for you. We can also provide hot and cold drinks. Our bar stock and price list are available on request.
Music and Entertainment
Do you have a music licence? We are fully licenced for playing both live and recorded music, and absolutely love a live band or great DJ. We also have a PA system that you are welcome to use for speeches and background music.
Do you have a sound limit? Our licence means that music is limited to 95 dBA, which we find is more than loud enough for a good party. We will monitor sound levels throughout your event, and if required we will discreetly ask your band/DJ to reduce the volume. We do not currently use a sound limiter.
Do you allow candles, firepits, sparklers and fireworks. Unfortunately we do not allow fireworks due to the risk to the farm, but we do accept candles (when held within heat resistant containers) and sparklers. We also have a fire pit that can be made available for your event. Please see our T&Cs for full details (available on request).
Transport and Finish
How do we get to The Ridgeway Barns? The Ridgeway Barns are located just 5 minutes drive from Junction 15 of the M4, so is easily accessible by car. Swindon train station is a 15-minute taxi ride away.
Is there parking on site. We have parking for up to 40 cars in our car park, and additional parking can be made available by prior arrangement. Guests are welcome to leave their cars overnight. If doing so, we ask that cars are collected by midday the next day.
How late can we celebrate? Our normal finish time is midnight, with last orders at 11.30 pm, last dance at 11.45pm and non-resident guests off site by midnight.
Taxis. Due to the remote location we advise that guests arrange transport home prior to your event. There is no public transport or pedestrian pathways along the road. A list of local taxi companies is available on request.
For weekday events (Mon-Thu) we are happy to let the farmhouse and barn collectively or separately. Barn hire starts at £150 per hour for small events (unfurnished, unstaffed), or £1,500 per day/evening for larger events (staffed).
For weekend events (Fri/Sat/Sun), please note we hire our spaces on an exclusive-use basis so hire normally needs to be in conjunction with farmhouse accommodation. Please see our accommodation page for further detail and pricing.

Two hours barn hire for a yoga/pilates class
Dry hire of the barn only. No staff or bar. Access to sound system by prior arrangement. Maximum 30 participants. Prices start at £300 for midweek bookings (2 hr minimum).
Half day barn hire for a celebration of life, including light buffet for 40
Barn hire with staffed bar, light buffet for 40 (including hot drinks) and seating for 24. Access for approximately 4 hours. Prices start at £2,400.
Evening barn hire, midweek, for an anniversary meal and party for 60
Barn hire with staffed bar and seating for 60 (dining). Access from 4pm until midnight. Prices start at £1,500 (weekdays). Please note, food is not included but we can put you in touch with some great caterers.
Weekend barn hire for a birthday party for 120
Barn hire with staffed bar. Access from 4pm until midnight. Prices start at £2,400. A discount may be applied if booked in conjunction with farmhouse and annex accommodation (priced separately). If you are planning a sit-down meal please let us know so that we can include furniture in your quote. Please note, food is not included.
Please get in touch for availability and to make a booking. For smaller/ daytime/ midweek events we may well be able to fit you in at short notice, but for weekend events and larger celebrations early booking is highly recommended. We can typically take bookings up to 9 months in advance.
