Celebrating Christmas at The Ridgeway Barns

The farmhouse is such a wonderful place to gather with your loved ones at any time of the year, but at Christmas it’s extra-special! For many, the festive season is all about getting together with extended family, and finding a space big enough can sometimes be a challenge.

Here at The Ridgeway Barns, the large house with eight luxurious bedrooms is the ideal place for bringing together the generations. Imagine the excitement of the children coming downstairs on Christmas morning to find their presents stacked underneath the magnificent tree, and the smell of freshly baked croissants cooking in the Everhot oven. The large kitchen diner is the heart of the home, and likely to be the place where everyone gathers while you make your Christmas dinner preparations: Grandad sat in the armchair by the woodburning stove, the kids laying the table, and the adults preparing the veg around the large peninsular, glass of wine in hand.

Choose to tuck in to your Christmas feast in the formal dining room, with stunning views over the North Wessex Downs, or gather around the large farmhouse dining table in the kitchen. And when you’ve stuffed yourselves full of turkey, relax in the snug or take a stroll up to the beautiful Ridgeway. We are now taking bookings for Christmas and New Year 2025. The tree and decorations will go up in early December, and be taken down after New Year.

Alternatively, if you dream of a magical Christmas wedding we have options for intimate weddings in the Farmhouse or larger celebrations in the barn. Laura and Josh hosted their elopement wedding with just their immediate family in the farmhouse in December 2022. The married in an intimate ceremony in the ceremony room followed by drinks reception around the tree. The house was filled with stunning decorations, provided by Rachel @theflowerfactory95, while Peter @vaughans_kitchen served up a delicious feast.
